    Job Description & Requirements

    This individual will be responsible for building and managing the activation plans for Dean Foods’ brands across key channels and national accounts including eCommerce. In addition, this individual will be responsible for building and managing the brand business.


    • Translating the Brand campaign idea into a volume-driving in-store activation program that supports the portfolio throughout the year at key selling windows.
    • Owning the Brand P&L and building the portfolio to over $xMM in sales.
    • Supporting the launch of New Dean Food Brands
    • Supporting the transition of local dairies to Branded base business
    • Owning the 3-year annual planning process for these businesses.
    • Leading media, creative and packaging agencies from briefing through execution and post-analysis.
    • Partnering with field marketing and sales to execute regional & customer overlays to national initiatives.
    • Defining sales execution framework (Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising & Pricing)
    • Partnering with Innovation and R&D to develop a 3-year innovation strategy and pipeline.
    • Identify, partner with, and manage external vendors in the execution of research projects
    • Leading cross-functional teams from insights through commercialization
    • Manage multiple time-sensitive projects at a time to deliver actionable results
    • Maintain the Brand budget and ensure adherence to plan
    • Use syndicated (Nielsen/IRI data) and proprietary data sources (internal sales data)
    • Perform other duties as assigned


    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, MBA preferred.
    • Classically trained brand marketer with 7+ years’ experience on national CPG brands.
    • Food experience in a DSD, warehouse (Direct and/or Broker), and eCommerce driven business preferred.
    • Marketing Competencies:
      • Understanding of the 4Cs: Collect, analyze and interpret accurate data on the 4Cs (Consumers, Customers, Competitors, and Channels) to develop sound insights and action plans that serve as the foundation for the development of winning marketing strategies and tactics.
      • Business Acumen & Total System Economics: Develop knowledge of the business and trade economics and processes to make informed decisions that result in maximizing profitability.
      • Marketing & Brand Strategy Development: Develop the brand and business strategy through insights analysis, marketing plans and total system economics to deliver volume, revenue, share and profit growth.
      • Digital & Social Media Strategy & Execution: including management of media elements that will maximize ROI from media investments.
      • Agency, External Partner & Cross-Functional Leadership: Set direction and manage relationships (including budget and performance) with all third-party agencies, including advertising agencies, marketing research suppliers, packaging agencies and others.
      • Consumer & In-Store Promotions: Determine promotional and presence strategy and develop and execute promotions to meet brand, consumer, and customer objectives to drive retail activity, distribution and volume. Digital & e-comm savvy mandatory.
    • Leadership Behaviors:
      • Comfortable managing complexity across matrixed organizations: manage large SKU portfolios across multiple manufacturing locations including 3rd party manuf.
      • Entrepreneurial, resourceful, self-starter, action-oriented -- able to operate in a lean organization with limited marketing resources.
      • Flexible & responsive in a dynamic business environment strong organizational and time management skills that enable agility amidst multiple & shifting priorities.
    • Comfortable influencing senior management and regional P&L owners to drive growth agenda.
    • Able to create structure and process where it currently does not exist.
    • Strong project manager. Comfortable engaging/leading cross-functional teams.
    • Able to proficiently gain insight and manage IRI/Nielsen & internal shipment data.
    • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), IRI, Google Analytics, Facebook Analytics, Web Publishing
    • Comfortable building and selling launch plans.
    • Position is based in Dallas, TX; no relocation assistance is available.
