    Provides highly complex and comprehensive analysis on items related to Dean Foods’ product pricing strategies. Conducts statistical based analyses of price lists, architecture and price strategy, promotions strategy and effectiveness, and/or trade operations within the branded and private label portfolios. Analyzes market trends, product volume, margin and competitive prices, and/or promotional tactics and strategies and provides recommendations to management. Primary responsibilities include:

    • Provides highly complex and comprehensive analysis on items related to Dean Foods’ product pricing strategies. Conducts statistical based analyses of price lists, architecture and price strategy, promotions strategy and effectiveness, and/or trade operations within the branded and private label portfolios. Analyzes market trends, product volume, margin and competitive prices, and/or promotional tactics and strategies and provides recommendations to management. Primary responsibilities include:  
    • Serve as the central resource for pricing strategy, trade analysis, and price reporting across the Revenue Management team
    • Bring visibility, transparency, and analytical rigor to pricing and trade promotions working closely with other members of the Revenue Management (Corporate and Field), as well as with Regional Commercial Finance and Sales teams.
    • Conduct price modeling, focusing on price elasticity and price gap management, using tools and approaches formulated by Corporate Revenue Management team
    • Build key performance indicators for pricing and trade; identify outliers, research drivers and use analytics to challenge key stakeholders to course correct when necessary
    • Develop the appropriate price/brand ladder positioning for the local markets, identifying opportunities to grow volume and/or profit
    • Partner with Logistics & Procurement to understand the primary drivers of cost, commodity inflation or deflation, and impact to pricing during various bids or customer requests.  Likewise, develop tactics during times of sustained inflation or deflation
    • Perform competitive analyses to benchmark Dean Foods’ product portfolio vs. key competitors
    • Provide support to Sales, Commercial Finance, and Logistics teams to develop competitive bids for strategic accounts
    • Create and distribute clear and consistent price impact reporting to Commercial Leadership and Field teams

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree with a quantitative discipline such as finance, economics, mathematics/statistics, or engineering
    • At least 3 – 5 years of corporate finance experience in a Fortune 500 company (preferably CPG), consulting firm, market information/research company (ACNielsen/IRI), or market research department; pricing analytics (multivariate statistics or econometrics) and knowledge of syndicated data a plus
    • Excellent spreadsheet skills (functions/macros/VBA) and good relational database management skills (e.g., Access, enterprise databases); SAS or similar database analytics tool experience a plus
    • Knowledge of financial planning processes (e.g., P&L mgmt.) & valuation practices (e.g., NPV, EVA) a plus
