    Job Description & Requirements

    The Manager, Data Analytics will provide leadership to drive step change improvement to the company’s OPEX metrics reporting, analytics processes and define standards and processes. Specifically, this leader will be responsible for enabling reliability and efficiency improvement in Dean’s overall metrics reporting systems and methodology to our Supply Chain network by introducing industry proven tools and implementing a standard metrics reporting management playbook. Ultimately, the Manager, Data Analytics will develop and deploy procedures and processes focused on data analytics and reporting. The Manager Data Analytics will drive metrics reporting and analysis activities across the Supply Chain network. Additionally, the Manager Data Analytics will support the achievement of long term data analytics strategy to achieve our Supply Chain objectives and a best in class position within the industry. The Manager Data Analytics will drive improvement in our Supply Chain network to meet a standard of operational excellence. 

    This improvement will include the application of proven tools for continuous improvement, data analytics and metrics reporting, establishing standard operating procedures and processes. A standard playbook with standard practices and the attainment of the annual Supply Chain goals. Additionally, this role will coach the Supply Chain teams to much greater levels of capability, sophistication, and performance.


    Responsibilities include:

    • As a member of the Operational Excellence team, work with Supply Chain management personnel to ensure attainment of annual and long-term Supply Chain objectives across the Dean Supply Chain network. Ensure compliance and collaboration on quality, safety, cost, people, and customer service objectives.
    • Lead the overall development and execution of data analytics and metrics Reporting for 68 sites with production/delivery volume of over 2.5 billion gallons and a labor cost totaling more than $1.0B.
    • Support the overall OpEx2020/Lean Six Sigma and productivity playbook deployment strategy to deliver efficiency, waste, and cost objectives.
    • Ensure the achievement of all Supply Chain KPIs including those related to throughput, cost savings, labor (Operations, Logistics, & Maintenance) efficiency, downtime reduction, asset utilization, and OEE.
    • Drive the execution of the OpEx2020 playbook in the supply chain by developing the master plan for the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and metrics reporting pillar deliverables.
    • Integrate the metrics reporting and analysis methodology into our Supply Chain optimization efforts across the Dean supply chain network
    • Build standard operating procedures and processes to ensure standards are met at all levels. Support root cause analysis and best practice reapplication across the Supply Chain network.
    • Involvement in value stream analysis and Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB) for all segments of the Dean supply chain network.
    • Develop long term (OpEx2020) maintenance improvement and cost savings strategy for Dean Foods
    • Develop and deploy standard tool kit for Supply Chain Optimization and Cost Savings improvement.



    This position is a member of the Operational Excellence team. There are no Direct reports include in this role



    Products are manufactured and distributed by 68 company owned plants covering two zones (North and South)



    The Manager Data Analytics will have 5 years of combined manufacturing and supply chain experience. Strong analytics back ground. Food industry experience is not mandatory but highly desired.  A solid working knowledge of the data and information management systems used within Dean viewed as a plus.  A high energy, creative approach to problems will require an executive who is highly intelligent, analytical, financial, a quick study, and a team player with strong leadership skills. 

    Proven experience in applying sophisticated continuous improvement and analytical practices is the fundamental prerequisite for the job, as is experience in optimizing production efficiency.  The individual must have experience in implementing management practices or raising their level of utilization as opposed to simply operating an existing process.  The individual will have had experience in a large company with a reputation for strict cost management.



    Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, engineering, finance, business administration, operations management, or a related field. A graduate-level degree in manufacturing, operations management, engineering is desirable but not required.  7 years’ relevant experience required.
