    Job Description & Requirements

    The Director of Tax Reporting and Compliance is responsible for ASC 740 tax accounting and reporting, including planning and execution of all annual and quarterly income tax provision calculations, drafting required SEC disclosures, and forecasting the effective tax rate and cash tax payments, and for the development and documentation of procedures and controls related to the tax accounting function. This position also oversees income tax compliance. 

    • Oversees and manages current and deferred tax reporting for all legal entities pursuant to ASC 740 ensuring financial statement accuracy,
    • Develops and implements integrated, efficient tax reporting strategies, policies, practices, and work plans,
    • Advises management of financial statement impacts due to changes in applicable federal and state tax laws, rules, and regulations and accounting pronouncements,
    • Manages and ensures tax related SOX 404 internal controls are documented properly and tested,
    • Reviews all SEC financial statement tax disclosures,
    • Manages external audit process and builds business relationship with auditors,
    • Reviews internal reporting schedules and analyses, and explains and discusses these items with company management,
    • Partners cross-functionally with key business stakeholders (accounting, legal, finance, etc.) to ensure tax initiatives are developed holistically,
    • Advises management regarding the tax impact of the Company’s strategic initiatives including M&A activities and internal operational initiatives,
    • Provides leadership, mentoring, and goal setting to ensure team development and motivation of tax team professionals,
    • Reviews federal tax returns, including income tax, excise tax, withholding tax, and others,
    • Assists with tax department budget process,
    • Manages special projects as needed.

    Job Requirements:

     

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, prefer Master’s degree in Tax or Accounting,
    • Certified Public Accountant (required),
    • Minimum of 10 years’ tax experience in Big 4 public accounting and/or large, public company tax department, with in-depth, hands-on experience with ASC 740 and SOX 404,
    • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other areas related to financial reporting requirements,
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite,
    • Knowledge of OneSource Income Tax and OneSource Tax Provision software a plus,
    • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems, 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
    • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs,
    • Strong team player with ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines,
    • Skill in project management,
