Job Description & Requirements

The Business Analyst II, under general supervision, supports the Strategic Sourcing Director, Strategic Sourcing Manager and Procurement Team in market and spend analysis, supplier negotiation and performance management, and internal purchasing performance analysis that is accurate and on time. The Business Analyst will be required to build supporting databases and reporting tools that monitor supplier and competitive dynamics, market trends and pricing movements in order to ensure competitive supplier pricing.

- Works with business units and suppliers to assess, analyze, and implement procurement solutions that reduce costs and business risk.

- Performs detailed data analysis to track and monitor total spend for commodities purchased, measure versus baseline costs, and monitor business unit purchases.

- Supports supplier communication, negotiation and the RFP process for current and future purchasing agreements.

- Understands and monitors global commodities to track trends and evaluate the impact of raw material supply, demand, and pricing in specific supply categories on a timely basis and in volatile market conditions in "real time".

- Develops an accurate, measurable and data-driven fact base to support strategic sourcing decisions, as well as supplier selection decisions. 

- Performs supplier research to ensure appropriate products/services are purchased at competitive prices.

- Analyzes supplier quotations and make recommendations to the Strategic Sourcing Team based on price, availability, terms, quality, and past performance, and strategic impact to the company.

- Ensures Total Customer Satisfaction (TCS) with supplier products and services. 

- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of existing national and regional supplier relationships and expert knowledge of assigned industry purchasing category(s).

- Assists Strategic Sourcing Director/Manager/Team with day-to-day activities and in the preparation and distribution of monthly activity reports relating to the overall performance of procurement and the contribution to the Company's profitability.

- Establishes professional relationships with strategic supplier personnel in both operations and sales.

- Identifies opportunities for improved savings and compliance.

- Assists the Strategic Sourcing Director/Manager in the assessment of strategic supplier performance against key performance indicators.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

 
 

- Technical or business undergraduate degree.

- Minimum of 5 years experience in a business analysis, strategic sourcing, procurement, logistics, materials and supplier management or supply chain consulting or industry environment with demonstrated track record of delivering results.

- Minimum of 5 years professional experience managing internal and external relationships.

- Purchasing or Financial certification is preferred.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience.  

- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.

- Strong team player with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.

- Skill in organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.
