Job Description:


The Accounts Payable Supervisor III performs and supervises work in multiple accounts payable functions involving multiple complex systems and/or site ensuring compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures.

  • Verifies payment documentation and authorizes the payment of invoices.
  • Provides assistance regarding the proper coding of invoices and other procedural issues.
  • Compiles, posts, and/or reviews entries made to the Accounts Payable general ledger.
  • Reconciles account balances, and generates Accounts Payable reports.
  • Handles unusual or difficult customer service inquiries/situations through direct personal action or refers to the appropriate individual.
  • Responds to inquiries from vendors and employees; conducts investigations and historical reviews to resolve problems.
  • Plans the overall operations of one or more areas or units and ensures achievement of goals and objectives either directly or through subordinate staff.
  • Develops, interprets and ensures the consistent application of organization policies.
  • Develops or approves recommendations to change systems, policies and procedures; ensures timely and accurate implementation.
  • Establishes deadlines.
  • Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and controlling.
  • Has supervisory responsibility involving staffing, conducting performance appraisals, training and developing subordinates, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


 Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of 7 years related experience in an Accounts Payable role, of which a minimum of 4 years have been spent in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all departments, management levels within the company, and external stakeholders. 
  • Ability to select, guide, develop, and retain a team of employees. 
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background and criminal checks).
