The Quality Assurance Supervisor directly supervises lab employees to maximize productivity of assigned shifts and areas at the highest quality and food safety standards.  This includes training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, coordinating weekly CI Meetings, coordinate schedules and estimate worker hours for assignment completion, addressing product and employee complaints, recommend improvements to production methods, and resolving problems.  This person carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies, OSHA regulations and applicable laws while following all established CI Processes and the Management Operating Structure (MOS).

Job Description:

  • Works with site management, supervisors, and employees to ensure all quality programs and policies are followed for safe food production.
  • Ensures compliance on all regulatory guidelines
  • Assists QA Manager in solving food safety or quality issues
  • Trains employees monthly on food safety and quality topics per corporate guidelines.
  • Tracks QIP work orders to ensure we are in compliance each month and repairs are completed on time.
  • Conducts weekly quality meetings with Plant Manager and Department Heads
  • Prepares site for SQF dit
  • Participates in regulatory and customer inspections
  • Completes QA walkthroughs of the facility to ensure necessary corrective actions are completed
  • Monitor and verify chart compliance
  • Updates documents and registers as processes, products, etc change
  • Obtain and maintain State certification for antibiotic testing within company guidelines.
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
  • Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
  • Responsible for food safety, prerequisite programs and food quality related to designated area. Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • 2 years related experience required
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred.
  • Has the ability to flavor milk based, sugar based, and caffeine based products.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend for virtually the entire shift. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally including overhead.
  • Must be able to work in a wet environment. Exposure to chemicals.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.
  • Be able to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication
